The late 20th century AIDS epidemic continues but mutatedSS. MILK is the white fluid for the 21st century what the white powder was for the 20 century high.
As part of Post-Porn-Politics symposium held in Berlin, Shu Lea Cheang concocts a Milk High Midnight Extra at Volksbuhne’s red salon.
MILK HIGH MIDNIGHT EXTRA is a multi-performer, multi-spotlight, multi-projection performance with its narrative threads taken from Shu Lea Cheang’s yet unrealized film "Fluid". Fluid, first conceived in 2000 for Zentropa’s PuzzyPower division, was never produced following the defunct of PuzzyPower production line. For this performance night, several performance scenes taken from the film scenario will be staged simultaneously in the red salon. The audience are invited to roam about the salon with milk high and join the performance.
We are seeking Berlin and Porn Film Festival participants to join us on this performance night.
