Shu Lea Cheang, a nomadic digital artist, traverses in aboveground and underworld. Following her one year project "Brandon" (1998-1999), the first web art commission from the Guggenheim Museum New York, She went off to Tokyo for directing "I.K.U", the scifi porn feature that premired at Sundance Film Festival 2000. After I.K.U.’s screening in Denmark, she wrote "Fluid" for Zentropa’s Puzzypower division. With Puzzypower folded its production line, Fluid was never realized. The concept for FLUID was diverted into performative art projects that was included in Taipei Biennale 2000, Detox (Norway, 2004) and Terrorist love night Gender Trouble (Paris, 2004). Milk, born out of same concept, was a web rendition for 56K-bastard TV (Switzerland, 2004). She is currently developing I.K.U. sequal UKI with Uplink, Tokyo. The Ursula Martinez Striptease is not part of her work.
