William Wheeler, a performance artist, filmmaker and translator from the United States who has been based in Berlin since 2000 works with video projection, animation, movement and text, live performance and music.
His work weaves narratives which propose tensions between everyday unconsciousness and momentary (dis)identification, while detailing grey areas within dualities like victim/perpetrator, defensive/offensive, real/imagined, bought/sold.
He has worked with Antonia Baehr, CHEAP, Laurie Young and is currently working solo and with Stefan Pente and Alessio Bonaccorsi.
